EUREKA - The tale of the California Ginter Gold Find!

THE FIND - 26 plates and 9 woods, all 2006! This gets me to the lifetime goal of 10% of all 2006 plates in existence (150) and relieves the pressure (for now) of the weight of completion.

I'll still be actively acquiring plates but I'll be a little pickier (probably). It's always fun to see which others pop up though!

A new and exciting Ginter Gold Vein was discovered recently! 13 hours and 800+ miles of driving, months of persistence and following up, and, at the very end, through a global IT meltdown at the last minute - I was able to do the biggest deal in my collecting career with a man who is one of us; a collector, an original Ginter nut and new friend who cares deeply about these cards but, luckily, just a little bit less than I do. I'm grateful for a son who is trying to help his dad let things go, a legendary collector who understood that maybe a few of his cards would have a better home somewhere else and for this fun little community for encouraging me along the way, never missing an opportunity to appreciate what each other is trying to accomplish. 26 plates, 9 woods and a lifetime goal checked off - Welcome to the collection, cards.
