The Topps Allen & Ginter brand offers us all a way to collect both our baseball heroes AND our non-baseball heroes, nay, our non-sport heroes even! Athletes of any sport, authors, social media stars, infamous reality celebrities, etc. are all fair game.
Every year Topps asks us to weigh in on who they should include in the set. We have their ear so let's make sure to shout our wishlists!
One of my all-time favorites has been of Stephen Dubner, the author and podcaster behind the great behavioral economics journalism in the form of Freakonomics, one of the top podcasts in existence. His style of interviewing that is fair, curious and intelligent is perfect to me and until the 2022 set I would have never even considered having the chance to supercollect his cards. Then Topps changed that for collectors. Now, I'm constantly looking for his rarest cards to complete my rainbow. This gives me extra incentive to pay attention to releases year after year for more of my heroes. And Dubner knows how important incentives can be for humans.
So, who is on your wish list? Who is your top 5? Top 10? It's a tough question. I'm adding my Top Ten below and I will keep it updated as life continues. But I'd love to hear yours! Both for selfish reasons as a community but also because, as I mentioned, Topps is listening :)
