First off, I don't get the hatred that these cards get. These are true artifacts of this amazing set that also come with some very uniquely beautiful frames. I'd love to find the designer responsible and just pick their brain for an interview here.
Each of them are true 1/1's and come in four colors; Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. This is known in the printing world as CMYK (K stands for the "Key" color which is currently Black). Unique to the Ginter set is that they are all framed minis since this set has the parallel mini set. I have one "Plate-bow" in Nathaniel Hawthorne! And am one or two away from several other subjects. Notably, Grover Cleveland, John Wooden and Carl Lewis.
There are 1500 in existence from this set (375x4) and my personal goal is to collect 10% of them before I die. Currently sitting at 91 so I have a WAYS to go.
What do you think about printing plates? Love or hate?
